Code Game Challenge contest

publication date: May 15, 2011

On May 14, 2011 a Code Game Challenge game strategy programming contest took place among the students of Volgograd State Technical University. The sponsor and the main inspirer of this colourful event was the computer game development studio Kefir. The software to conduct the competition was provided by our company.

Because of unexpected water supply shutdown in some districts of Volgograd, the contests participants and organizers had to change their location urgently. Within just two hours the all software was installed and deployed completely in the office of Singularis Lab. And in spite of the force majeure, the competition passed successfully.

For four hours the participant students were puzzling over inventing and coding various game strategies, which fought each other later. The final demonstration of the battles happened in the new building of VSTU on May 16. For an hour and a half virtual spaceships were battling with each other, determining the winners. The 1st place was got by a 3rd year student of Compute Science Faculty Ermolov Roman, the 2nd and the 3rd were taken by his younger colleagues, 2nd year students Kichatov Evgeniy and Gorbushin Igor.

Besides the gladness of victory they got generous prizes from the sponsor – iPad for the 1st place and iPod’s for the 2nd and the 3rd.

Our company does appreciate the studio «Kefir» – the contest will never happen without their initiative.
