Intel Code Challenge Tour in Volgograd

The VSTU student, who participate in programming contests and are trained in Singularis Lab, entered the top three winners of Intel Code Challenge Tour in Volgograd.

In September and October 2016, Intel Corporation held contest Intel Code Challenge among students in ACM format, in the celebration of the 25th anniversary of its academic programs in Russia. The event is timed to coincide with a major technology partner conference - Intel Partners Day (November 9, 2016, Nizhny Novgorod). October 8, 2016 the final (intramural) stage of the contest was in 6 cities and universities: Moscow (MSU), St. Petersburg (Peter the Great SPbSPU), Nizhny Novgorod (UNN), Arkhangelsk (NARFU), Kazan (KFU) and Volgograd (VSTU).

18 people (including members of the SSU (Saratov), KSU (Krasnodar), VSTU, VolSU) were selected for the final stage in Volgograd. 13 people, including 5 members of the SSU and VSTU and 3 - from the VolSU were able to take part in the competition internally.

Curator of Intel university programs in Russia, the head of the software development team Intel Igor Lopatin welcomed and demonstrated a short presentation the participants, and then the competition started.

Participants had to quickly and correctly solve all 7 complex tasks, and therefore to develop 7 programs for 3 hours. Best of all the participants of the tour in Volgograd coped with it:

  1. Sagunov Danil - 1st place (SGU, Saratov, finalist of programming world championship ACM ICPC 2016 (24th)),

  2. Los Ilya - 2nd place (SGU, Saratov, finalist of programming world championship ACM ICPC 2015 (55th)),

  3. Nosov Artyom - 3rd place (VSTU, Volgograd).

After the competition, after a short coffee break the participants were awarded certificates of participants and prizes, and the winners were invited to the Intel Partners Day Conference in Nizhny Novgorod.
