publication date: April 21, 2014

The VIII Open South Federal University Programming Contest with International Participation took place in Taganrog on April 19 - 20. As usual, many university teams form different Russian cities took part in the competition. Foreign teams also participated in the contest. This year the Contest Committee invited our colleague software engineer Vladimir Chalyshev as one of the problem authors. When he was a student, Vladimir participated in many programming contests, won and got prizes and became an ACM ICPC World Finalist in 2012. Other our colleague, software engineer Alexander Kataev (he is also a coach of one of the Volgograd State Technical University student teams) decided to revive a bit of the past and took part in the competition in the informal league. He demonstrated a better result than many active teams.
