Description: On October 7–13, 2013, the 2nd All-Russian Youth School on Robotics and Embedded Systems was held at Volgograd State Technical University. The school was organized by OOO “Singularis Lab” jointly with Intel Inc., Saint Petersburg State University, Nizhny Novgorod Fund of Encouragement of Education and Researches, Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University n.a. R.E. Alekseev.

Recent advances in the field of robotics, the introduction of embedded systems, high-performance computing and programming for Android with Intel tools were included in a rich school program for young professionals and students. In addition, interesting workshops on the development of creative thinking, technological entrepreneurship, intensive practical training and a lot of competitions were carried out as a part of the school.

The lecturers of the school on Robotics were professors of leading technological universities in the country as well as representatives of Intel. The participants (by the way, participation was completely free) had an excellent opportunity to demonstrate their creative abilities in the competition of ideas for high-tech innovative products. The competent jury not only evaluated the best projects but also provided a detailed assessment and some advice on the improvement of projects to each participant.

An exciting bonus of the school was a competition Code Game Challenge, in which participants had to write a behavior strategy of units in a specified environment. After 4 hours of programming, the step-by-step simulation of battles was run in Code Game Show format; as a result, the winner was chosen. The competition allowed nobody to stay indifferent, giving the participants many unforgettable emotions!

It is pleasant to note that the school participants, filled with drive, new ideas, and experience, continue further development in the chosen directions. The school has become a powerful incentive for young professionals and enthusiasts, opening up new prospects and opportunities for them.

More details of the school materials can be found on the website.
